The City of Newport Beach is committed to keeping the community informed and providing meaningful opportunities for residents to learn about the City’s efforts, ask questions and share feedback throughout the evaluation process.
Community input helps City leaders understand resident priorities as future police facility options are evaluated. Public feedback is one of several factors that will help inform future discussions and decision-making, and no single factor will determine future recommendations.

Why We’re Evaluating a Future Police Facility
As part of the broader public review process, the City established the Police Headquarters Advisory Committee comprised of three City Council members and four Newport Beach residents. The committee, which includes residents with backgrounds in construction, development and real estate finance, will help evaluate location, design and budget for a future police headquarters facility and provide recommendations to the City Council for their consideration.
The committee held its first meeting on July 7, 2026. All committee meetings are open to the public and provide one of several opportunities for the City to gather community input and perspectives to help inform future discussions and decision-making inform future discussions and decision-making. The committee acts in an advisory role and does not make final decisions for the City.
